Cheyenne, WY – The National Weather Service in Cheyenne is warning travelers along I-80 and I-25 to prepare for strong winds and hazardous travel conditions during the Thanksgiving holiday week.

Gusts exceeding 60 mph are expected in the state’s usual wind-prone corridors—especially near Arlington, Bordeaux, and Elk Mountain—from Monday afternoon through early Tuesday morning, prompting a High Wind Warning.

The winds will ease briefly Tuesday night before another round of gusty conditions develops Wednesday into Thursday morning. The second event may not be as intense, but it could still cause travel difficulties, particularly for high-profile vehicles.

Temperatures will also drop sharply Tuesday, bringing cold and blustery conditions across much of southeast Wyoming. Motorists are advised to check road and weather updates frequently and to delay travel if possible during periods of strongest wind.
