CORPUS CHRISTI, TX – The National Weather Service in Corpus Christi has issued a Gale Warning in effect from Tuesday evening through Wednesday evening as a strong cold front pushes through South Texas and the Gulf waters.

Behind the front, north winds of 25–35 knots with gusts up to 40 knots are expected, producing seas of 8–13 feet and very rough bay waters.

The warning covers marine areas from Baffin Bay to the Matagorda Shipping Channel, including Corpus Christi, Nueces, Copano, Aransas, and Red Fish Bays.

Forecasters warn that hazardous wind and wave conditions will pose significant risks to all marine traffic — particularly for small craft. Mariners are strongly advised to remain in port, secure vessels, and avoid navigating in these dangerous conditions.

Conditions are expected to gradually improve late Wednesday night into Thursday as winds subside.
