Hermitage, PA – The National Weather Service in Pittsburgh confirmed a landspout tornado occurred yesterday just east of Hermitage, PA, based on photographic evidence. The rare weather event was documented around 5:30 PM near New Virginia in Mercer County.
According to the NWS, the EF-U landspout tornado was captured in photos by local residents. However, the extent of the damage, if any, remains unknown at this time as officials continue to gather more information.
