Gray, Maine – The National Weather Service in Gray has issued Winter Storm Watches across much of Maine and New Hampshire ahead of a strong winter storm expected Tuesday.

Snow is forecast to begin Tuesday morning, become heavier in the afternoon, and exit the area by early Wednesday morning. Forecasters expect 6 to 10 inches of snow in parts of southern and central Maine, including Portland, Augusta, and Concord, with lower totals farther north and along the coast.

The snow may fall heavily at times, leading to hazardous travel conditions throughout Tuesday afternoon and evening. The NWS urges residents to monitor forecasts and drive cautiously if travel is necessary.
