Billings, MT – A winter storm warning remains in effect across parts of Montana, bringing heavy snowfall and strong winds through Friday night. The storm is expected to drop between 10 and 15 inches of snow in the Absaroka/Beartooth and Crazy Mountains, with wind gusts reaching 45 mph.

According to the National Weather Service, central and south-central Montana, including Musselshell, Golden Valley, and Judith Gap, could see 4 to 8 inches of snow. Hazardous travel conditions are expected, particularly along Highway 191 and Highway 12. The heaviest snowfall is forecast for Friday, which may impact both morning and evening commutes.

Outdoor recreation in high-country areas is strongly discouraged due to increasing avalanche risk. Officials advise travelers to carry emergency supplies, including food, water, and a flashlight.

For updated road conditions, travelers are encouraged to call 511.
