Lake Charles, La. – The National Weather Service in Lake Charles reports that a Gulf low-pressure system will move along the coast today through tonight, bringing widespread rain and a few thunderstorms across southwest Louisiana and southeast Texas.
The heaviest rainfall, with totals of 1 to 2 inches or more, is expected along and south of the I-10 corridor, where the chance of exceeding 2 inches ranges from 15% to over 50%.
After the rain exits, colder air will move in, leading to freezing temperatures across central Louisiana and the east Texas Lakes region by Tuesday morning, with another light freeze possible Wednesday morning north of I-10.
A second system is expected to bring more heavy rain late in the week, continuing an active and unsettled weather pattern for the region.
