FORT WORTH, Texas — Forecasters are monitoring the potential for heavy rainfall across North and Central Texas early next week as the next storm system moves in from the west, the National Weather Service said Tuesday.

The system is expected to arrive Sunday and continue into early Monday and Tuesday, bringing periods of showers and thunderstorms. Rain chances range from 30% to 60% Sunday before increasing to 60% to 70% Monday, forecasters said. Highs through the early week will remain in the 60s and 70s.

The weather service said details on timing and rainfall amounts will become clearer in the coming days, but early indications show precipitation tapering off by Thanksgiving Day.

Travelers heading out early for the holiday are urged to stay updated with the latest forecasts.
