Denver, CO – High temperatures are expected to soar to near 100 degrees across the I-25 Urban Corridor on Sunday. Residents are advised to take precautions during this extended period of heat.
According to the US National Weather Service Denver/Boulder, the heat advisory will be in effect from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday. Areas impacted include Denver metro, Boulder, Fort Collins, and Greeley. The advisory warns of potential heat illnesses, including heat exhaustion and heat stroke.
The weather service recommends staying hydrated by drinking plenty of water and avoiding strenuous outdoor activities during the hottest parts of the day. Seeking shade or air conditioning, checking on relatives or neighbors who may be more vulnerable to heat, and never leaving pets or children unattended in vehicles are also advised.
