Kansas City, MO – Residents across the Heartland can expect a calm start to November, but forecasters warn the weather pattern could shift quickly as Thanksgiving approaches. The NOAA Climate Prediction Center (CPC) says Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, and parts of Iowa and Oklahoma are likely to see above-normal temperatures and below-average precipitation through mid-month.

The October 24, 2025, outlook suggests highs will remain several degrees warmer than normal into the second week of November, delaying any early snow for most of the region. Still, forecasters note that a late-month cold front could change that, potentially dropping temperatures enough for light flurries in northern Missouri or eastern Nebraska between November 20–25.

While no major storms are expected yet, meteorologists say the Heartland’s weather can turn on a dime this time of year. Holiday travelers should monitor forecasts closely as Thanksgiving week draws near.

For now, the Heartland’s fall forecast looks comfortable and dry—but winter may be waiting just beyond the holiday.
