Stroudsburg, PA – Snow is set to blanket Carbon and Monroe counties starting this morning, potentially disrupting Friday evening commutes.

According to the National Weather Service, the Winter Weather Advisory begins at 10 a.m. today and will last until 7 a.m. Saturday. Between 1 to 3 inches of snow is expected, with the heaviest accumulation forecasted for areas above 1,500 feet. Drivers are urged to slow down and exercise caution as slippery roads could cause hazardous travel conditions.

Saturday morning’s low temperatures may keep snow and ice on the roads, particularly in shaded areas. Residents should prepare for potentially icy stairs, sidewalks, and driveways when heading outdoors. The state’s 511 system is available for updated road conditions.

Looking ahead, temperatures will remain chilly throughout the weekend, with highs in the mid-30s Saturday and Sunday. Light snow showers may linger Saturday morning before giving way to partly cloudy skies. By Monday, expect a dry but cold day with highs near 40°F.

As the snow tapers off, sunshine returns Tuesday with temperatures climbing into the low 40s, offering some relief from the wintry start to the weekend.

Plan ahead if you’re traveling today or early Saturday, and keep a shovel and ice melt handy for sidewalks and driveways.
