Hilo, HI – A coastal flood advisory remains in effect through Sunday morning, as minor flooding is expected along shorelines and low-lying coastal areas of all Hawaiian islands, including Hilo. Daily high tides could lead to minor flooding during peak morning hours.

According to the National Weather Service in Honolulu, residents are urged to avoid flooded roadways and coastal areas during high tide. Along with the flood advisory, scattered showers are forecast for Hilo this weekend, with a 30% chance of rain each day through Tuesday. Tonight’s low will dip to around 71 degrees, with Saturday’s high reaching 80 degrees. Showers are expected to continue through Saturday night and Sunday.

By Monday, temperatures will rise to the low 80s, but scattered showers remain in the forecast, particularly in the afternoons. The National Weather Service recommends monitoring local updates for potential flood impacts and preparing for possible road closures along vulnerable coastal areas.
