Hastings, NE – Scattered thunderstorms are expected to develop across central and southern Nebraska overnight Thursday, particularly along and north of Interstate 80.

According to the National Weather Service in Hastings, overnight lows will fall into the mid-60s with winds around 5–15 mph. Rain chances remain between 15–30%.

Friday will bring hot, breezy conditions as highs climb into the low to mid-90s. Winds out of the southwest could gust between 20–30 mph, making for a warm and dry day ahead of weekend changes.

Saturday’s forecast calls for mostly sunny skies during the day with highs in the upper 80s to low 90s. Thunderstorms are expected to return in the evening, continuing into Sunday.

By Sunday, storm chances increase to 40–70% with scattered thunderstorms possible throughout the day. Highs will drop into the upper 70s and low 80s, with overnight lows in the low 60s. Winds remain breezy, with gusts near 25 mph possible.

Travelers and residents are advised to monitor conditions closely, especially those driving along I-80, where storms may impact visibility and travel safety.
