Hastings, Neb. – Parts of Nebraska face a risk of severe storms tonight, with the strongest activity expected between 7 p.m. and midnight. Damaging wind gusts up to 60 mph pose the greatest threat, and some storms could also produce hail up to the size of quarters.
According to the National Weather Service in Hastings, the entire region remains under a Marginal Risk for severe weather this evening. Isolated to scattered storms will develop late, potentially impacting communities from McCook and North Platte to Broken Bow and Hastings. The NWS advises residents to secure outdoor items and be ready for sudden strong gusts.
Travelers along Highways 6, 30, and I-80 should remain alert for reduced visibility and sudden crosswinds. Power outages are possible if winds bring down tree limbs or utility lines.
