HASTINGS, Neb. – After several days of thunderstorms, skies will clear across much of Nebraska today, bringing a stretch of dry weather through Friday. Afternoon highs will range from 82 to 88 degrees, with winds shifting to the north and northeast by mid-afternoon.

According to the National Weather Service in Hastings, isolated thunderstorms in Kansas and patchy morning fog in southern Nebraska will move out by late morning. The remainder of the workweek is expected to stay mostly dry, with only a 20% chance of thunderstorms late Wednesday night.

Heat will build across the region late this week, pushing temperatures toward the upper 80s and low 90s by Friday. Residents should prepare for hotter afternoons, especially those working outdoors. Rain and thunderstorm chances will return Saturday night and continue into early next week.

Officials advise staying hydrated during peak heat and monitoring updated forecasts as the weekend approaches.
