According to the Windsor County Sheriff’s Department, deputies responded on October 30, 2025, to Route 12 near Mace Hill Road for a reported crash. Signs of drug activity were allegedly observed, and the vehicle was seized pending a search warrant. Deputies say the search uncovered approximately 15 grams of crack cocaine and 2 grams of fentanyl.
The accused, 32-year-old Aleigha Sykes, was taken into custody on December 5 by Deputy Craig Watrous at the Springfield Police Department. Officials say Sykes was wanted on multiple charges, including trafficking fentanyl, possession of more than 2.5 grams of cocaine, DUI-drug, and negligent operation, as well as an active arrest warrant.
Sykes was lodged at the Southern State Correctional Facility in lieu of $60,000 bail, the sheriff’s department confirmed. She is scheduled to appear in Windsor Court on Monday, December 8, 2025, at 12:30 p.m.
