Houston, TX – Residents across southeast Texas should prepare for a wet and stormy Wednesday as a broken line of thunderstorms moves through the region, according to the National Weather Service Houston/Galveston.

The storm system, currently moving through the Brazos Valley, is expected to impact the northern Houston metro area between 1–4 p.m. and shift closer to the coast by around 7 p.m. Forecasters say the intensity and coverage of storms will increase as the afternoon progresses.

According to the National Weather Service, rainfall totals of 1–2 inches are expected, with some localized areas south of Interstate 10 possibly receiving 3–5 inches. Stronger storms could also bring isolated damaging wind gusts.

Potential impacts include minor flooding, especially in areas where repeated storms pass over the same locations. Drivers are urged to use caution during the evening commute as heavy downpours may reduce visibility and cause water to pool on roads.

High temperatures earlier in the day reached into the low to mid-90s, with overnight lows expected to settle into the 70s across much of the region and near 80 degrees along the coast.

Officials advise residents to remain weather-aware and check for forecast updates throughout the day.
