According to Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez, three people were traveling eastbound on FM-529 when a male driver allegedly exhibited aggressive behavior. One driver honked, prompting the other to stop and retrieve a shotgun from his vehicle.

As the second vehicle attempted to leave, the suspect allegedly fired the weapon, striking the rear of the car. A projectile hit a passenger in the back of the head, causing a non-life-threatening injury. The victim was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Deputies said the suspect fled the scene but was located and arrested shortly after in the surrounding area.

The alleged shooter, identified by authorities as Franklin Sael Alvarado, 33, has been charged with one count of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon and two counts of third-degree Deadly Conduct. He was booked into the Harris County Jail.
