Harris County, TX – A man is facing felony criminal mischief charges after deputies say he caused thousands of dollars in damage to another driver’s pickup truck outside a Cypress-area retail store earlier this month.
According to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, the incident occurred on November 15, 2025, at a business located at 14200 Cypress Rosehill. Investigators say the victim parked his truck and went inside the store. When he returned, he discovered significant damage to the front and sides of his vehicle.
Deputies said surveillance footage captured a male suspect parking his own truck directly in front of the victim’s vehicle. According to investigators, the suspect allegedly lowered his tailgate multiple times, striking the victim’s truck. The video then reportedly showed the man move to the passenger side and kick the vehicle several times, causing damages that officials estimate exceeded $5,000.
Footage of the incident was later posted by Grizzy’s Hood News, prompting follow-up investigation by the HCSO Burglary & Theft Division. Detectives ultimately identified the suspect as Ricky Anderson, 45, according to deputies. Detective Francis with the sheriff’s office filed charges for felony Criminal Mischief between $2,500 and $30,000.
Harris County detectives, along with the District 5 Crime Reduction Unit, located Anderson and took him into custody. He was booked into the Harris County Jail and is awaiting court proceedings.
Officials have not released additional details on a possible motive. The sheriff’s office is encouraging anyone who witnesses criminal mischief incidents in retail parking lots to report them promptly, as surveillance footage often plays a major role in identifying suspects.
