Authorities say the incident occurred around 6:57 p.m. on Nov. 13. Preliminary investigation revealed that a pedestrian was walking west in the eastbound lane of McLean Chapel Church Road when they were struck by a westbound truck or SUV that had crossed the center line.

The pedestrian died at the scene, and the vehicle involved did not remain, troopers said.

Investigators are searching for a white 2005–2007 Chevrolet truck or SUV with significant front-end damage, including a missing grill and damaged headlight.
