Jacksonville, FL – A hard freeze warning remains in effect for parts of Florida, Georgia, and Alabama until 10 a.m. Friday as temperatures plummet to as low as 18°F. Wind chill values could reach 13°F, prompting additional Cold Weather Advisories across the region.
According to the National Weather Service (NWS), a Cold Weather Advisory is active from midnight to 9 a.m. Friday, with a Freeze Watch extending through Saturday morning. These warnings affect northeast and northern Florida, southern Georgia, and southeast Alabama, including cities such as Jacksonville, Tallahassee, Valdosta, and Dothan.
Residents are urged to protect sensitive vegetation, wrap exposed pipes, and ensure outdoor pets have warm shelter. Prolonged exposure to these conditions may lead to hypothermia or frostbite, with children, the elderly, and the homeless at greater risk.
