Hanford, CA – A Pacific storm system is forecast to move into Central California by midweek, bringing rain to valley and foothill areas and snow to the Sierra Nevada, according to the National Weather Service in Hanford.

Forecasters say precipitation will mainly impact northern parts of the warning area, where there’s a 40 to 50 percent chance of at least a quarter inch of rainfall within a 24-hour period ending 4 p.m. Wednesday.

Valley communities could see light to moderate rainfall, while higher elevations in the Sierra Nevada may experience early-season snowfall. The system’s arrival marks one of the first significant precipitation events of November, following several dry weeks across the region.

While the forecast remains uncertain, the Weather Service advises residents and travelers to monitor updates early next week, especially those heading into mountain passes or foothill roads where conditions may quickly change.
