Hanford, CA – Residents in Hanford and much of the San Joaquin Valley are bracing for another round of intense heat as highs climb past 100°F through Tuesday, peaking Sunday with a forecasted 104°F. Calm mornings will give way to dry, blistering afternoons, creating hazardous conditions for outdoor activities and vulnerable populations.

According to the National Weather Service, Hanford will see highs between 102°F and 104°F from today through Monday, with only a slight drop to 101°F on Tuesday. Overnight lows in the upper 60s to low 70s will offer little relief, raising the risk of heat-related illness. Northwest and west winds will remain light at 5–10 mph, doing little to offset the sweltering afternoons.

Officials advise limiting strenuous activity during peak heating hours, staying hydrated, and checking on elderly neighbors. Pets and livestock should have access to shade and fresh water at all times. Cooling centers remain available throughout Kings County for those without reliable air conditioning.

Temperatures are expected to ease midweek, with highs dipping into the mid-90s by Thursday, offering a short-lived reprieve before heat could return later in August.
