A low, silver-gray blanket of fog sits heavy over the San Joaquin Valley this morning, swallowing headlights and softening the horizon. In Hanford, California, dense fog is once again the main story, as early travelers face visibility drops to near zero through late morning hours.

The National Weather Service in Hanford warns that fog could persist until around 11 a.m., especially across agricultural areas and low-lying pockets between Highway 198 and Highway 43. Drivers should use low beams, slow speeds, and extra spacing, particularly along rural routes and near the Kings River. Conditions are expected to gradually improve by midday as light northerly breezes begin to break up the thick air mass.

Once the fog lifts, partly sunny skies and mild temperatures return, with highs near 53°F Sunday and climbing toward the upper 50s by Monday and Tuesday. Nights will remain chilly — dipping into the upper 30s and low 40s, which could allow patchy fog to reform late each evening through midweek.

By Wednesday, a slightly warmer and drier pattern sets in, continuing through Friday with afternoon highs near 57°F and mostly sunny skies. No rain is expected in the Hanford area this week, but early December fog remains the primary travel hazard across the Central Valley.
