HANFORD, Calif. – A cool, silvery mist blankets fields across the San Joaquin Valley this early Saturday morning, muffling sound and leaving a light sheen on windshields before sunrise. The late-October calm will soon give way to several bright, tranquil days as high pressure builds, setting the stage for mild fall warmth heading into the final week of October.

According to the National Weather Service in Hanford, today begins partly sunny with highs in the mid-70s after early fog and haze gradually lift. Calm winds dominate through the afternoon, though visibility may stay reduced along rural stretches of Highway 198 and Route 43 early in the day. By Sunday, skies clear completely with highs near 72°F and crisp, comfortable air—ideal for outdoor markets or late-season fieldwork.

As the new week begins, temperatures climb slightly into the low 70s Monday and mid-to-upper 70s by Tuesday and Wednesday. Nights cool into the upper 40s and low 50s, keeping that signature fall chill in the air. Conditions remain dry across Kings and Tulare counties, with no rain expected through midweek.

Residents can take advantage of the clear stretch for yard cleanup or early Halloween decorating before cooler November air slides in. Models hint at a pattern change by next weekend, possibly bringing the valley’s first frosty mornings of the season.

A chilly November ahead may not be far off.
