HAMPTON FALLS, NH – A Maine man was arrested Sunday after allegedly driving 119 mph on Interstate 95 in Hampton Falls during a New Hampshire State Police traffic enforcement initiative, authorities said.

According to New Hampshire State Police, the enforcement operation took place on Sunday, October 5, 2025, along I-95 northbound in Hampton Falls and Hampton. Over a three-hour span, troopers recorded 36 vehicle violations, including 20 drivers traveling over 90 mph.

At about 7:19 a.m., a State Police aircraft detected a vehicle speeding northbound at 119 mph. The pilot relayed the information to Trooper Lauren Hervieux, who stopped the driver, identified as Jason K. Harvey, 48, of Hampden, Maine.

Police said Harvey was arrested and charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated — for allegedly exceeding the speed limit by more than 30 mph — along with driving under the influence (third offense), reckless operation, and open container violations. Harvey is scheduled to appear in Hampton District Court on October 31, 2025, and is being held at the Rockingham County House of Corrections.

Authorities noted that current penalties for driving 100 mph or faster include fines up to $930 and a 90-day license suspension, which will increase under new laws taking effect January 1, 2026.

State Police urged motorists to slow down and drive attentively, adding that highway patrols will continue targeting excessive speeding and impaired driving on New Hampshire interstates.
