Albany, NY – Hamilton County is bracing for back-to-back rounds of winter weather as the National Weather Service in Albany maintains a Winter Weather Advisory through 1 a.m. Monday, followed by a Winter Storm Watch from Tuesday morning through late Tuesday night.

According to the advisory, light snow will continue Sunday evening with additional accumulations up to 3 inches expected overnight. Roads, bridges, and sidewalks may become slick and hazardous, especially for the Monday morning commute.

A more significant system is forecast to arrive Tuesday, with the potential for heavy snow exceeding 6 inches across the North Country. The Tuesday morning and evening commutes could both be impacted by dangerous travel conditions, forecasters said.

Residents in towns including Long Lake, Wells, and Hoffmeister are urged to monitor the latest forecasts and prepare for multiple rounds of winter weather early this week.

The National Weather Service advises slowing down and using extra caution while traveling, noting that icy surfaces on driveways and walkways could also increase the risk of falls.

The Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 1 a.m. Monday, with the Winter Storm Watch beginning Tuesday morning and lasting through late Tuesday night.
