Anderson, IN – A 33-year-old Anderson man was arrested Tuesday on 10 felony charges after an investigation by the Hamilton County Metro Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force, according to officials.
According to the task force, detectives identified the suspect, Anthony Carmack, after receiving multiple CyberTips from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. Investigators said Carmack allegedly used several social media accounts to share and possess child sexual abuse material.
A search warrant executed at Carmack’s Anderson home uncovered additional digital evidence, police said. Detectives alleged that Carmack, a registered sex offender, engaged in explicit online chats with juveniles and possessed material involving child sexual abuse and animals.
Carmack was charged with one count of child exploitation, multiple counts of possession and dissemination of child sexual abuse material, vicarious sexual gratification, inappropriate communication with a child, and failure to report, all felonies. He is being held at the Madison County Jail.
According to authorities, Carmack denied any physical contact with minors but admitted to having inappropriate “thoughts” about local children.
The Hamilton County Metro ICAC Task Force is a partnership of several agencies, including the Fishers, Carmel, Noblesville, and Westfield Police Departments, along with Madison County and Hamilton County Sheriff’s Offices.
Anyone with additional information about the case is urged to contact the Madison County Prosecutor’s Office.
