Georgia — The autumn chill has finally settled across north and central Georgia, with crisp, clear air sweeping through the region this Halloween morning. Temperatures are dipping quickly under calm skies, setting the stage for the season’s first widespread Frost Advisory.

The National Weather Service in Peachtree City has issued a Frost Advisory from 2 a.m. to 10 a.m. Saturday, covering much of north, northeast, and central Georgia — including Atlanta, Peachtree City, Athens, and Gainesville. Temperatures are expected to fall as low as 33°F in rural areas, with frost formation likely in sheltered valleys and low-lying zones.

Residents should protect sensitive plants, especially tender garden crops and outdoor flowers. Even light frost can harm unprotected vegetation, and potted plants should be brought indoors or covered before sunset tonight.

Aside from the chill, the weather stays calm and clear through the weekend. Saturday and Sunday will feature abundant sunshine, light winds, and highs in the lower 60s, a welcome rebound after the frosty start. By Sunday night, clouds increase slightly as weak moisture returns from the south, but rain chances remain minimal — just a 20% chance of isolated showers or a stray thunderstorm into early Monday.

Early next week looks comfortably mild, with highs climbing into the mid- to upper-60s, ideal for outdoor plans or post-Halloween cleanup. Long-range trends suggest another cool push by midweek, possibly bringing a second round of patchy frost to northern Georgia valleys as November settles in.

And don’t forget — Daylight Saving Time ends at 2 a.m. Sunday. Set clocks back an hour and enjoy an extra bit of rest before a bright, cool start to November across the Peach State.
