The event invites participants of all ages to run, walk, or creep their way through the park in creative costumes for a chance to win prizes.

According to the Village of Frankfort, festivities will kick off at 9:30 a.m., with the first race—the 100-yard dash for children ages 5 and under—starting at 10:30 a.m. A one-mile fun run for ages 10 and under will follow at 10:40 a.m., and the all-ages 5K run/walk will begin at 11 a.m. All 100-yard and one-mile participants will receive ribbons, while 5K overall male and female winners will take home trophies. Medals will be awarded to the top finishers in each age category.

Costume contest categories include Best Family Theme, Biggest Group Theme, Funniest Costume, Scariest Costume, and Most Creative Costume. Organizers encourage participants to dress up for the race to be eligible for prizes, with registration costing $15 for those in costume and $20 for those without. Same-day registration will be available, but those who register by Wednesday, Oct. 16, are guaranteed an event T-shirt.

After the races, attendees can enjoy the “Tricks & Treats at the Green” celebration, featuring live DJ music, a balloon artist, face painting, a bonfire, and seasonal treats like hot chocolate, donuts, and cocoa.

The event is designed to be family-friendly, offering something for everyone—from competitive runners to families looking for a festive way to celebrate the Halloween season.
