Hall County, GA – Two Gainesville men featured in Hall County Sheriff’s Office’s “Wanted Wednesday” campaign have been arrested just days apart, authorities confirmed Sunday.

According to the Hall County Sheriff’s Office, officers arrested Randy Gene Holt, 35, of Gainesville, on Thursday afternoon, Oct. 9, at his residence. Holt was wanted for a felony probation violation and a superior court arrest order, tied to charges of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, and possession of methamphetamine. Deputies added an additional charge of obstruction of an officer at the time of his arrest.

Sheriff’s officials said Markel Thamon Johnson, 37, of Gainesville, was also taken into custody early Sunday morning, Oct. 12, on a felony probation violation stemming from an underlying first-degree arson charge.

Both arrests came after the department highlighted the suspects during its “Wanted Wednesday” initiative, which regularly features individuals sought by law enforcement for local offenses.

The Hall County Sheriff’s Office expressed appreciation to the Gainesville Police Department for its assistance in locating and apprehending both men.

Residents are encouraged to stay alert and follow weekly #WantedWednesday updates on the department’s social media for community safety awareness.
