Northern Minnesota – Residents in Northern Minnesota should brace for potential hail and thunderstorms this weekend. The National Weather Service (NWS) in Duluth predicts a series of weather changes, beginning with a high likelihood of showers and storms on Saturday, accompanied by temperatures ranging from 70 to 84 degrees Fahrenheit.
According to the NWS, Saturday’s storms are not expected to be severe but may bring periods of heavy rain, small hail, and gusty winds. Sunday will offer a respite, with partly to mostly sunny skies and temperatures between 48 and 81 degrees. However, southern parts of the Northland could still see a 20-40% chance of showers.
The weather pattern continues into Monday and Tuesday, with Monday showing a high of 83 degrees and a 50% chance of showers and thunderstorms. Tuesday’s forecast predicts a similar chance of rain, with temperatures ranging from 70 to 82 degrees.
As the week progresses, the weather stabilizes. Wednesday and Thursday are expected to be clearer with highs in the low to mid-70s, providing relief from the early week storms. Residents are advised to stay updated with local weather reports and take necessary precautions during periods of heavy rain and potential hail.
