Gunfire Disrupts Indiana Car Show

EAST CHICAGO, IN – A festive day at Indiana’s Stunna Beach Bash Custom Car Show took a harrowing turn on Sunday when gunshots pierced the air at Jeorse Park Beach, causing widespread panic.

The trouble began around 3:45 p.m. with a brawl near the event stage. As East Chicago Chief Jose Rivera and Deputy Chief Justin Orange intervened, shots erupted, leading Chief Rivera on a tense chase resulting in a shooter’s arrest.

Three of the attendees were caught in the crossfire and sustained non-life-threatening. East Chicago’s Criminal Investigation Division is rigorously probing the incident, having identified two shooters connected to the initial disturbance.  One was transported to a Chicago hospital for injuries sustained in the attack, with the other turning himself into police.  

The identities of the victims and shooters have not been released at this time.
