Mobile, AL – The Gulf States will keep their mild fall streak going through most of November, but a late-month cooldown could bring the first real hint of winter just in time for Thanksgiving.

According to the NOAA Climate Prediction Center (CPC) update issued October 24, 2025, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, and the Florida Panhandle are expected to see above-normal temperatures and below-average precipitation for the first half of the month. That means a quiet, dry pattern—ideal for travel and outdoor plans—but little sign of any early snow.

Forecasters do note, however, that cold fronts pushing south from the Midwest could briefly drop temperatures during the week of November 18–25, bringing frosty mornings inland from Birmingham to Baton Rouge. While the coast stays mild, inland areas could see their first freeze of the season if the pattern deepens before Thanksgiving.

For now, the Gulf Coast remains firmly in fall mode, but one strong front could make late November feel like winter overnight.
