New Orleans, Louisiana – A broad late-winter warm-up is setting up along the Gulf Coast, bringing a stretch of above-normal temperatures and a quieter weather pattern from Texas to the Florida Panhandle. The shift is expected to support travel, outdoor activity, and early spring preparations across coastal communities.

According to the National Weather Service Climate Prediction Center, the Feb. 9–15 outlook favors above-normal temperatures across the entire Gulf Coast region. The strongest signal stretches from southeast Texas through Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, and the Florida Panhandle, placing the region firmly within a warmer-than-average pattern.

Along the central Gulf Coast, including New Orleans, Gulfport, and Mobile, afternoon highs are expected to climb into the 60s and 70s, delivering a springlike feel for mid-February. Southeast Texas, including Houston and Galveston, should see similar warmth, with mild mornings and comfortable afternoons.

Farther east, including Pensacola and Panama City, temperatures also trend warmer, supporting beachside activity and improving day-to-day conditions.

Despite the warming trend, the pattern remains notably dry. No organized rain systems are evident during this stretch, keeping flooding concerns low but limiting meaningful moisture for soils and waterways.

While occasional cool mornings may linger, the overall signal points to a calm, mild period along the Gulf Coast. Additional outlooks will determine whether the warmth holds or if a more active pattern returns later in February.
