Lake Charles, LA – Warm and humid conditions will continue across southwest Louisiana and southeast Texas through early next week as a stagnant weather pattern holds firm over the region. Daytime highs remain in the upper 70s to low 80s through Monday with little to no chance of rain, according to the National Weather Service Lake Charles office.
Forecasters say the long dry stretch will further worsen ongoing moderate drought conditions across the area. Rainfall deficits continue to expand, and no meaningful precipitation is expected until the middle of next week.
The next chance for showers and thunderstorms arrives Tuesday and Wednesday, with higher rain chances expected Thursday ahead of an approaching cold front. Early signals show Tuesday bringing rain chances in the 20–40% range, increasing to 40–60% Wednesday, and rising further on Thursday where some areas—including Alexandria, Leesville, Lafayette, and Lake Charles—could see storm chances climb above 60 percent.
High temperatures remain steady day to day, with most locations reaching 79–83 degrees from Friday through Thursday. Nights will stay mild as well, with warm, muggy conditions lingering until the pattern shifts midweek.
Residents across southwest Louisiana should monitor forecast updates as next week’s system takes shape. While uncertainty remains regarding timing and coverage, the region is poised for its first meaningful rain in several weeks.
