Mobile, AL – The Gulf Coast will experience its coldest night of November as clear skies and dry air send temperatures tumbling into the 30s across much of the region Monday night, November 10, into Tuesday morning, November 11. According to the NOAA Weather Prediction Center, the chill will extend from eastern Texas through Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, and the Florida Panhandle — a reach rarely seen this early in the season.

Forecast lows include 33°F in Hattiesburg, 34°F in Baton Rouge, 35°F in Mobile, 36°F in Pensacola, and 37°F in Tallahassee. Inland sections of southern Mississippi and central Alabama could briefly touch 30°F, producing the first frost of the season. Even coastal cities from New Orleans to Panama City are expected to drop into the upper-30s, ending several weeks of warm, humid evenings.

The National Weather Service offices in Mobile, Slidell, and Tallahassee have issued frost and freeze alerts for interior counties. Forecasters say calm winds and clear skies overnight will allow rapid radiational cooling, creating ideal conditions for frost formation even near the Gulf shoreline.

The Weather Prediction Center’s Hazards Outlook places the Gulf Coast on the southern edge of the nation’s expansive “Frost/Freeze” corridor, stretching from Minnesota to the Florida Panhandle. Meteorologists note this early-November chill is 20–25 degrees below average for the region.

Tuesday’s highs will recover into the upper-50s and low-60s under sunny skies before a second cool night midweek.

Residents are advised to cover tender plants, protect outdoor pipes, and bring pets indoors overnight.
