The department is encouraging the community to donate nonperishable food items to help local families in need this holiday season.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, donations can be dropped off Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at several county locations. Accepted items include stuffing mix, canned vegetables, instant potatoes, cranberry sauce, and any other canned or dry foods.
