Guilford County, NC – A 33-year-old man was arrested after multiple vehicle break-ins were reported across two Guilford County neighborhoods.
According to the Guilford County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to reports on February 18 and 19, 2026, of unlocked motor vehicles being broken into along Strawberry Road and in nearby neighborhoods, including areas near the 3200 block of NC 150 East.
Detectives identified and arrested Joseph Gene Haswell, 33, who was allegedly found in possession of property taken during the break-ins. Investigators said he also allegedly broke into an outbuilding at a residence on Strawberry Road and stole additional property, which has since been recovered.
Haswell is charged with 14 counts of felony breaking and entering a motor vehicle, 12 counts of misdemeanor larceny, misdemeanor possession of stolen goods, misdemeanor injury to personal property, felony breaking and entering, and felony larceny after breaking and entering. Authorities said he was also served with 25 orders for arrest and a parole violation.
He is being held at the Guilford County Detention Center in Greensboro under no bond for some charges. His next court appearance is scheduled for Thursday, March 5, 2026, at 9 a.m.
Detectives believe additional property may be linked to unreported break-ins and are asking potential victims to contact the GCSO District 1 Office at 336-641-2300. The case may be especially relevant for residents and commuters in the Strawberry Road and NC 150 corridor.
