Greensboro, NC – Two people are now in custody following a months-long investigation into a fatal overdose that occurred earlier this year in Guilford County, according to the Guilford County Sheriff’s Office.

According to investigators, deputies responded to a reported overdose on January 6, 2025, at a residence on Folgers Mill Road in Julian, Guilford County, located southeast of Greensboro. When deputies arrived, they found 23-year-old Jacob Clinton Sprinkle deceased at the scene.

With assistance from the North Carolina Office of the Chief Medical Examiner and the Guilford County District Attorney’s Office, detectives developed two suspects during their investigation. On Monday, December 1, 2025, the Guilford County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Investigative Unit arrested Dakota Ryan Blevins, 24, and Heather Dawn Harris, 51, who allegedly supplied the narcotics involved in the fatal overdose.

Detectives charged both individuals with Felony Death by Distribution, a North Carolina statute used in cases where the alleged distribution of illegal drugs results in a death.

Authorities say Blevins is being held in the Guilford County Detention Center without bond. Harris is being held under a $500,000 secured bond.

The case remains active, and investigators say no further updates will be released at this time. Anyone with information regarding the incident is encouraged to contact Detective A. Miller at 336-641-5966 or provide anonymous tips to Greensboro/Guilford Crime Stoppers at 336-373-1000.
