Grundy County, IL – Expect heavy traffic near the Grundy County Fairgrounds on Wednesday, July 3rd, for the annual fireworks display. Local authorities have issued a traffic advisory to ensure smooth flow during the event.

According to the Grundy County Emergency Management Agency, two exits will be used at the fairgrounds after the fireworks. All traffic using the north exit will be required to go northbound on Illinois Route 47 past Nelson Rd. Meanwhile, all traffic using the middle exit will be directed southbound on Route 47, with the first available turn at Gore Rd. The south exit will be reserved exclusively for emergency vehicles needing access to the fairgrounds.

Granville Rd. and Nelson Rd. will be closed to traffic trying to access Illinois Route 47. Morris Police and Grundy County Emergency Management personnel will be on hand to facilitate the process, aiming to make exiting the fairgrounds as smooth as possible.
