Morris, IL – Two men were arrested Tuesday afternoon after Grundy County deputies allegedly found around 70 grams of suspected fentanyl during a traffic stop near Gardner Road, according to the Grundy County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies say the incident occurred around 3:06 p.m. on November 19, 2025, when the Sheriff’s Office Pro-Active Unit pulled over a vehicle near Gorman Road for a traffic violation. After a conversation about prior narcotics history, a consent search was granted for both the driver and the vehicle.
According to investigators, the driver — identified as Eric Mikolajczyk, 35, of Ransom, IL — allegedly had a small bag containing suspected fentanyl in his pocket. A further search of the vehicle uncovered 79 additional bags of suspected fentanyl in the glove compartment. The combined weight of the substance was approximately 70 grams.
Mikolajczyk and his passenger, Anthony Fialko, 34, of Streator, IL, were both arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession with intent to manufacture or deliver a controlled substance, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
Both men were transported to the Grundy County Jail and are being held pending a pre-trial release hearing.
