Greenwood County, SC Felony Arrest: Meth and Marijuana Seized

Greenwood, SC – A Thursday morning welfare check in Greenwood County turned into a felony drug arrest after deputies allegedly found methamphetamine and marijuana in a suspect’s vehicle.

According to the Greenwood County Sheriff’s Office, deputies with Uniform Patrol Division’s Team 3 were dispatched to the southern portion of the county around 7:30 a.m. on October 2, 2025. Authorities said the subject showed behavior consistent with narcotics use.

Deputies conducted a probable cause search of the suspect’s vehicle and allegedly discovered 50.62 grams of a white crystalline substance that field-tested positive for methamphetamine. They also reported finding 50.08 grams of leafy material believed to be marijuana.

The individual was arrested and charged with trafficking methamphetamines and possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, according to officials. The Sheriff’s Office noted that the arrest followed the subject allegedly exhibiting signs of being under the influence at the time of contact.

No additional details about the suspect have been released as of Thursday afternoon. Deputies said the case remains under investigation.
