Greenwood, SC – Two people were arrested in central Greenwood County after deputies discovered suspected methamphetamine hidden in a laundry basket during an arrest operation, according to the Greenwood County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies from Team 4 responded to a residence on October 26, 2025, to serve an active arrest warrant. After making contact with two people inside, one identified as the wanted person, a deputy reportedly noticed suspicious movements as the suspect attempted to hide items in a laundry basket.

When the individual was placed in handcuffs, deputies recovered a clear baggie containing two smaller bags of a crystal-like substance believed to be methamphetamine. A search warrant for the property and nearby vehicle led to the discovery of another bag of suspected meth.

Investigators said the wanted person was charged with Trafficking Meth (more than 28 grams, third or subsequent offense), while the second individual was charged with Possession of Meth with Intent to Distribute.

Both suspects were taken to the Greenwood County Detention Center for booking. The sheriff’s office praised deputies for removing what it called “illicit poison” from the community.
