Spartanburg, SC – A stretch of clear, mild days will give way to unsettled fall weather early next week across the Upstate. Sunshine and comfortable afternoons in the 70s will carry through the weekend, but showers are expected to return by Monday and linger into Tuesday.

According to the National Weather Service Greenville-Spartanburg office, Friday will be sunny with highs near 74, followed by another dry day Saturday with highs around 77. Conditions remain calm through Sunday evening, though skies will turn mostly cloudy Sunday night as moisture builds.

A 30 percent chance of showers arrives Monday afternoon, with the likelihood increasing Monday night into Tuesday morning. Rainfall chances peak Tuesday at 40 percent, potentially slowing the morning commute across Spartanburg, Greenville, and surrounding counties. Isolated pockets of heavier downpours could lead to slick spots on I-85 and I-26.

Winds will remain light, but clouds and showers will keep highs Monday and Tuesday closer to the mid-70s before a sharp cool-down. By Thursday, highs may fall back into the upper 60s, a reminder that fall chill is creeping in.

Residents are advised to enjoy outdoor plans this weekend, but prepare for wetter roads and slower travel early next week. Keep umbrellas handy, allow extra drive time Monday night into Tuesday, and monitor NWS updates in case of any stronger storms.
