Greenville-Spartanburg, South Carolina – A small amount of snow remains possible across portions of the Upstate this morning, primarily along the Interstate 85 corridor, according to the National Weather Service Greenville-Spartanburg.

In a social media update posted early Sunday, the National Weather Service said ongoing precipitation through late morning will be a mix of rain and snow east of the mountains, with precipitation expected to change to snow in most areas before ending.

Forecasters indicated that less than one inch of snow is anticipated, with the highest chances focused along and near the I-85 corridor. Because of the light accumulation, minimal travel impacts are expected across the region.

A snowfall map shared by the National Weather Service shows light totals extending from northeast Georgia through the western Piedmont of South Carolina and into portions of southwestern North Carolina. No significant disruptions are anticipated as precipitation tapers off later in the morning.

Drivers are still encouraged to remain alert for brief slick spots, especially on bridges and elevated roadways, as temperatures hover near freezing during the morning hours.

The National Weather Service advises residents to continue monitoring local updates as conditions evolve.
