Greenville, SC – Clouds lingered over much of the Upstate early Friday, but a few sunny breaks are expected to send temperatures into the low 80s by late afternoon.

According to the National Weather Service in Greenville-Spartanburg, most of the region will stay dry, though a stray shower or two could pop up in the mountain counties later today. Commuters and outdoor workers can expect slightly warmer conditions than Thursday, with towns like Anderson, Greenwood, and Gaffney likely to see highs near 82°F. Meanwhile, areas in the western North Carolina foothills—including Asheville and Hendersonville—could see a brief afternoon shower, but rainfall totals should remain light.

Forecasters urge those heading out in the mountains to keep an eye on the sky, as quick showers may develop with daytime heating. Otherwise, most neighborhoods across Upstate South Carolina and Northeast Georgia should stay dry and mild. This stretch of warm, calm weather is expected to hold through at least the weekend, but another round of showers could move in early next week. Stay tuned for updates if new advisories are issued.
