Greenville, SC – A chilly Halloween Friday is in store across the Upstate and western Carolinas, with clear skies, calm winds, and widespread frost expected overnight, according to the US National Weather Service Greenville-Spartanburg SC.
Temperatures today will reach the upper 50s to near 60°F, under mostly sunny skies. Winds will diminish through the day, leaving a calm and crisp evening for any outdoor plans. By late tonight, clear skies and light winds will allow for rapid cooling, with temperatures plunging into the 30s across the Piedmont and upper 20s in the mountain valleys.
The NWS warns that frost and localized freezing conditions are likely, particularly across the western Piedmont and mountain regions. Gardeners and homeowners are encouraged to protect sensitive plants and outdoor plumbing from the cold.
The cold pattern will persist into Saturday morning before a gradual warming trend returns over the weekend.
