Greenville, South Carolina – Another round of chilly weather is settling over the Upstate Monday, keeping temperatures well below recent highs while very dry air spreads across western South Carolina.
According to the National Weather Service in Greenville-Spartanburg, afternoon temperatures will struggle to reach 50 degrees across much of the region, including Greenville, Spartanburg, Anderson, and surrounding communities. While winds will be lighter than Sunday, the cooler air mass remains firmly in place, keeping the day feeling crisp from morning through sunset.
Forecasters note that very dry conditions will develop this afternoon, with relative humidity dropping below 30 percent across most of the Upstate. Despite the dry air, fire danger is expected to remain limited due to lighter winds compared to the previous day. Still, officials urge caution with outdoor burning, especially in areas with dry vegetation.
Skies will remain mostly clear, allowing temperatures to fall quickly after sunset. Residents should expect a cold evening, particularly in rural and sheltered areas where temperatures may dip rapidly after dark.
The chilly pattern is expected to hold through the short term, though gradual moderation may arrive later in the week. Until then, residents are advised to dress in layers, stay hydrated despite the cool air, and remain mindful of dry conditions during outdoor activities.
