Greenville, SC – The National Weather Service in Greenville-Spartanburg has issued a Dense Fog Advisory for parts of the western Carolinas and northeast Georgia, in effect until 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 8, 2025.
According to the National Weather Service, dense fog has developed across the foothills of the western Carolinas, northeast Georgia, and the western Piedmont of North Carolina. Visibility may drop below one-quarter mile in many areas, creating hazardous driving conditions during the early morning commute.
Drivers are urged to slow down, use low-beam headlights and fog lamps, and maintain extra distance between vehicles. The advisory remains active until fog is expected to lift around mid-morning as temperatures rise.
Counties under the advisory include portions of Upstate South Carolina, northeast Georgia, and western North Carolina, including areas along Interstate 85 and U.S. 74. Motorists should allow additional travel time and use caution on rural and mountain roads.
