Greenville, SC – Accumulating snow is possible Friday afternoon into Saturday morning across the North Carolina mountain counties near the Tennessee border. Higher elevations stand the best chance for snow as a departing Alberta Clipper system moves through the region.

According to the National Weather Service in Greenville-Spartanburg, colder northwest winds will support light snow accumulation, particularly at elevations above 2,500 feet. Valleys and lower elevations have a reduced chance of significant snow.

Meanwhile, Greenville remains unaffected, with mostly sunny skies expected through the weekend. Temperatures will steadily drop, with highs reaching only the upper 40s on Saturday. Overnight lows may dip into the upper 20s.

A Dense Fog Advisory is also in effect until 10 a.m. Wednesday morning across Upstate South Carolina, creating hazardous driving conditions. Residents are advised to use caution and stay updated on local forecasts as conditions change.

For travelers heading to the North Carolina mountains this weekend, preparedness is key. Snow-covered roads could create slippery and hazardous travel, especially in higher terrain.
